Carnaval Mask Ball 2012

MOTIVATIONAL WEEKEND - 18th NOVEMBER 2011, Warsaw

In mid November we awarded seven of our top pupils from Pcim, Trzebunia and Budzieszowice with a motivational weekend in Warsaw.  In reward for receiving high marks in their studies we brought them to Warsaw and organised a weekend full of educational and recreational activities.
After everyone arrived and was picked up at the railway station the motivational weekend began with an exploration of new tastes at a popular sushi restaurant. This was followed by a bowling tournament which served as a great team building activity. During their second day our talented pupils further developed their skills by attending speed reading and memory classes. Afterwards, they participated in a motivational session at CMS Cameron McKenna, where they learned about legal advisory and the workings of a law firm. The already excited and motivated group was then taken for a visit to two prestigious higher education institutions: the Warsaw University and the Warsaw School of Economics. The day ended with sightseeing and dinner in the Old Town and a trip to the cinema. On Sunday our pupils asked to go to Mass and after the Service further developed their skills at a fast learning class. The weekend ended with a tour of the Warsaw Baths and the Belvedere.
This motivational visit follows many others which took place in previous years in Warsaw and in London. We are confident that this effort, in addition to our English language courses, further broadens the understanding of the value of learning a foreign language. We invite all who would like to help fund the education of one of the Foundation’s students to visit the Educational Patronage section of our website.

CHARITY BANQUET "CHICAGO NIGHT", WARSAW 2011

On June 18, 2011 we organised a very memorable charity event - “Chicago Night” a banquet set in the unique and inspiring atmosphere of the 1920s. The Banquet proved to be a great success both from an organisational and fundraising side. All of the generous donations received during the night are already fulfilling our Foundation's statutory objectives and helping children learn English.
As you can imagine preparing such an event is always a challenge and great undertaking. It requires commitment and hard work from many volunteers, friends and people with big hearts. We would like to express once again our gratitude to everyone who helped us organise the Banquet. It would have been impossible to make this night a success without your help. We would also like to thank all those who attended and keep attending our events every year. It was an incredible pleasure to spend this night in your company and we hope to see you all again in February 2012 during our annual Carnival Mask Ball in Warsaw.

EDUCATIONAL PATRONAGE

Educational patronage is an innovative form of sponsoring schoolchildren who want to study English with the EffectusPapilionis Foundation.

Currently, we are teaching 100 pupils in 3 locations. We are able to secure lower cost  in comparison to commercial language courses offered on the market:

·         The Foundation aims to provide free English  language courses for youth, who cannot afford commercial language courses;

·         An obvious challenge for the Foundation is to provide English language courses at a more attractive price than that of a commercial language course. If the Foundation was less cost effective, it would be more justified to act through the distribution of individual scholarships to buy traditional language courses at a market price.

What a great start to the new school year!

The EffectusPapilions Foundation together with its instructors greeted the new school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm as they saw so many new faces and also continuing participants - students who are given an opportunity to learn the English language.

For the third year in a row, we are teaching English in Pcim and Budziszewice. We are delighted that once again so many kids decided to participate in our language courses in Pcim and Trzebunia. As before, we are partnering with one of the biggest and best language schools from Kraków - Lingualand. Highly qualified instructors have won over the enthusiasm and commitment from children and parents across the region. Currently, we have formed five language groups– two in Pcim and three in Trzebunia. This means that altogether we are teaching English to about 60 students.
