On Friday, June 6th our Foundation held its Third Annual Charity Banquet in London on the premises of the Polish Embassy. The evening turned out to be a great success. With more than 120 generous guests attending, we collected around 10,000 pounds.
The evening started with a champagne-and-canapés reception, during which our guests had the opportunity to find out more about the Foundation and to make new acquaintances. Afterwards, during the entertainment portion of the evening, led by the witty and amusing Bartek Dujczynski, our guests enjoyed several live performances, beginning with a beautiful dance routine presented by Ms. Aleksandra Stefanczyk, finalist of the Miss London 2008 Competition. This performance was followed by a speech by Mr. Czarek Pietrasik, Head of Effectus Papilionis, describing the work of our Foundation. Shortly thereafter our guests were treated to a dazzling Svarovski Jewellery Fashion Show, prepared by the renown Mr. Marcin Giebultowski. The evening concluded with an unforgettable appearance by one of Poland's most famous musical acts, Ms. Justyna Steczkowska, singing some of her greatest hits.
The annual Auction constituted another of the highlights of the evening. The auction engendered fierce competition for -- among other fabulous items -- paintings, a diamond necklace, and dinner cooked for the lucky winner by celebrity chef Robbie Kadhim. But even those who did not secure one of these fantastic auctioned lots went home with prizes: the evening ended with a lottery of gift bags containing cosmetics and vouchers for restaurants, photo-shoots, make-over sessions, as well as weekend getaways.
Throughout the evening guests had the opportunity to try various famous Polish delicacies, including traditional pierogi and goulash.
We thank again our supporters and guests for spending the evening with us and making our charity a reality. We are especially grateful to the Polish Embassy for letting us host the event on its premises.
We look forward to seeing each one of you next year!!! See photos on: http://blackbrooch.com/
The Foundation The Effectus Papilionis (Butterfly Effect) Foundation was established in 2004 to support the education of children from underprivileged rural areas in Poland. In order to fulfill its mission, our Foundation hires English language teachers and sends them to schools throughout Poland. As well as English classes, our teachers also organize numerous extra-curricular and summer activities which help children to build their self-confidence, become more passionate about education and more positive about life in general.
We strongly believe that such support will give these children a much better start in life and allow them to spread their wings, just like our butterfly.
Our Foundation is a politically neutral non-profit organization. Its sole goal is to support the education of children.
You can find more information about us at www.papilionis.org The Banquet The primary goal of our annual Charity Banquet is to raise the funds necessary to send more teachers to rural areas in Poland. It follows successful events organized last years in London and Warsaw, where more than 400 people attended. This year we aim to start with an elegant drinks and canapé reception, followed by a fashion show, a music concert and a charity auction We are expecting the presence of VIP quests drawn from the political, social and cultural elites including a large number of Polish professionals living in UK, members of Polish City Club and other organizations active in Poland and the UK. |
